The Great Commission

April 3, 2017

Travis Fleming, Senior Pastor of First Baptist GallatinWOW! What a great week we had in Ecuador as we shared the Gospel message in both word and deed. I am super proud of each and every person who made up our First Gallatin team. From our adults to our youth, everyone worked hard in representing the Lord. We will be sharing more about our trip in the very near future. Will you consider being a part of our next mission trip?

The Great Commission (GC) is not something that is carried out merely in another country or another continent. It, however, is to be carried out in Gallatin and Sumner County as well as to the ends of the earth. It must be the basis for everything we seek to do as a church, and we are heading toward a great month of GC activities in April.

I am sure some of you have already noticed some of our questions we are asking (Will You Be Surprised? and What Do You Expect?) on social media. For Palm Sunday as well as Easter Sunday morning, I will be unpacking a biblical picture of Christ according to the Word. There are numerous expectations regarding Christ that are not biblical, but I know that when we see Him for who He really is we can’t help but be amazed. Who can we invite to join us Easter Sunday morning?

Pastor Nick will further unpack for us several GC events in April that will be key “connection” points for our community. The Easter Egg hunt will be a great chance to connect families that are un-churched. Furthermore, I want to encourage everyone possible to come out for our Spring Square Fest on April 29. I saw pictures from some of the Pastor Search committee last year from a distance. This year, my family and I will be able to experience it!

Finally our Men’s Ministry Sportsmen’s Dinner will be a great time to invite an un-churched friend as Dr. Mark Dance will share the Gospel and challenge and encourage us.

Thank you for the privilege of serving you!
