Where has the time gone since July 10th of last year? You welcomed us with open arms and made us feel wanted on our first Sunday with you! I can still remember the banner that you all signed and had hanging in the balcony for us. We’ve hung on to it as a ministry treasure. Moreover, what a great evening that same day at the Pavilion as we got to meet many of you for the first time over home made ice-cream, great conversations, numerous gift cards and special gifts and a little summer humidity.
It is really hard to believe it has been a year already, and on behalf of Jenna and our kiddos I want to say thank you for allowing us to be a part of the First Gallatin Family. The fact that Jenna and each one of our children love to come to church to worship and fellowship with everyone is huge for me. Even still, I can’t begin to describe how thankful I am that Kara walked the aisle recently in our 8:30 worship service to make public her decision to follow Christ as Lord and Savior.
I know this first year has been a year of change for many in the sense that First Baptist has added several new faces to our team. We have been blessed to call Pastor Nick and his family. Tonya Brown and Darla Tea did a great job with our children, and we are super blessed to have Savanna on board with us now. Additionally, our Youth Pastor Search team is at work praying through and looking at numerous resumes for our Youth Pastor position. Yet, Adam Correll has done a great job ministering to our youth in the interim.
Our office staff has also seen some change in the past year as Deanna Corbin retired last summer after twenty plus years of faithful service. Angela Govan stepped right in and has done a great job serving our church family! We also saw Sarah Franklin move on to a new position with the state, and Katelyn Henderson jumped right in to also serve us well.
We certainly hated to see Jayne Coleman step away after ten years of doing a great job serving our church, but we know that the Lord opened up a great opportunity for her to serve Him on mission as a Realtor. Furthermore, Adam Bush has joined us full-time as our Director of Communications, and he is doing a great job for us! I want to also brag on everyone who has been a part of the team from the office, to the kitchen staff, to the facility and the grounds!
It truly is a joy to serve with such a great staff as we serve an amazing church! Let’s continue to strive to make disciples as we share Christ and invest in the lives of those the Lord places in our path.
Grace and peace,
Pastor T
