DID YOU KNOW……
It is not uncommon to be in a conversation with someone and hear them talk about a ministry connection they were involved in only for me to say, “wow, I didn’t know we had anyone involved in that activity.” There are many things going on everyday throughout the church and our community that doesn’t make the headlines or get public recognition but are real life ministry connections where people are living out their faith in action. It is exciting to see so many of you being the hands and feet of Jesus in everyday life to others with everyday needs.
Currently, we have people driving by on Main St asking what is going on and what are we doing or how long before you are done? Right now we are at a hurry up and wait point in the parking lot /new entrance project. Each step is determined by various people, tasks, approvals, permits, weather, etc, but it is happening and causing people to take notice that a lot is going on at FBC on Main St.
But did you know…..
- a new phone system has recently been installed in the offices and throughout the building
- the sanctuary carpet, pew cushions, choir chairs, balcony, foyer and stairwells (everything red) was commercially cleaned last week
- new A/C wall units are being installed in various rooms of the ‘C’ building
Thank you to our Properties and Finance committees for moving forward on these needed issues.
And finally, as you saw on the cover of this issue, you know that tomorrow, July 2, is our “Celebrating Our Freedom” services. It is one of my favorite special events we have each year.
We celebrate the true spiritual freedom we find when we personally confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. We also celebrate the freedom we have as citizens of this great country by honoring our nation’s military personnel, law enforcement and our emergency personnel of our city and county.
Pastor Travis will also challenge us in his message from Acts 4 to live out our faith with or without freedom. “….for we have placed all our hope in Thee.”
