Four Things

March 7, 2017

Travis Fleming, Senior Pastor of First Baptist GallatinI have four things to briefly address in the following paragraphs. First, our church wide goal for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is $10,000. I know we surpassed our Lottie Moon Christmas offering goal, and I am prayerfully optimistic that we can meet and surpass our current goal as well!

Supporting our North American Mission Board (NAMB) through our Annie Armstrong offering is important. When one of my best friends from seminary, James Welch, and I went to New Orleans in 2006 to plant a church, we received monies from NAMB to help us in the early days. I have witnessed first hand the many demands of a church planter, and I have also seen how the cooperating nature of Southern Baptist missions is vitally important for reaching people for Christ. Thanks in part to NAMB’s help, the church plant is still reaching people for Christ on Canal Boulevard in New Orleans.

Your pastoral team has prepared a guide, 40 Days of Purposeful Prayer. This guide outlines 40 unique opportunities to pray for FBG beginning March 8 and continuing through Easter Sunday, April 16. Paul tells us in Colossians 4:2, Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. Let’s continue seeking the Lord as we move toward Easter Sunday morning and beyond!

Furthermore, we are super excited for everyone to meet Savanna Evans Wednesday night, March 8, in the fellowship hall. The pastoral staff and our Personnel Search Team believe you will be impressed with Savanna. Additionally, we believe you will love her passion to see our children come to know Christ as Lord and Savior! Don’t forget to be here Sunday, March 12, as we vote to call Savanna as our new Children’s Minister.

Finally, I am pumped to be able to team up with 30 plus First Baptist family members as we head to Ecuador on March 17 to do Great Commission work for the Lord’s glory. Pray for us as we are away from our families, but pray that we might be able to share Christ in grace and truth through both word and deed! Pray that lives might be changed for all eternity!
