What a great day of worship together as the body of Christ on Easter Sunday! Thank you for inviting and investing in others!
Can you sense the momentum the Lord is building as we move forward with Great Commission activity at First Baptist Gallatin? One of the highlights this year as a church body has been the completion of the renovation in the Connection Center. It has been great seeing people at Hebrews Café area and folks connecting in community in the open floor space before and after services on Sundays.
Several of you have asked about the completion of the front entrance and the parking lot on Main Street. We have some fantastic news for everyone! The Lord has blessed us as a church. The Properties Committee, along with the Campus Development team, have secured a new contractor who is going to enable us to complete both the parking lot and the front entrance within the dollar amount the church approved last year.
This news should be exciting for everyone! Why, you might ask? It will enable us to have a central “front entrance” to the church for our first-time guests, parking for our guests as well as our seniors, and it will provide easier access to our Connection Center, and ultimately, our sanctuary for corporate worship on Sundays. Furthermore, it will also make it easy for our Parent’s Day Out families to park in the new lot during the week. Even still, it will aesthetically help beautify our front entrance. At the end of the day, all of this ties in with helping us continue with God’s mission for His Church, and that is fulfilling the Great Commission.
We know that the Great Commission was given by Jesus as He commissioned His original disciples to “go into all the world” to make disciples of all nations. Where does this begin for us here at First Gallatin? It begins right here in our very own Jerusalem, Gallatin and Sumner County.
Finally, as we kick off our new series in the book of Acts, I want us to see that we are an extension of the early church that exploded with growth and momentum. This momentum came when the Holy Spirit filled each believer, and each believer in the early church was excited and fueled with the mission at hand … the Great Commission. You and I are a part of this same movement, and my prayer is that the Holy Spirit will do an incredible work through each of us as we move forward with Him in Great Commission activity!
