August 8, 2016 Update
We’re excited to report continued progress with our campus development efforts! On Monday, July 25, we met with our structural engineer to review the next steps in order to begin internal renovations by late fall. During our discussion, we also agreed on specifics for preparing front entrance drawings and architectural plans. These plans will allow us to begin actual construction based on our current time frame.
We also discussed details of the interior remodel behind our sanctuary and how this space can best be utilized. The demolition work in this area is scheduled to begin in late October. As you can imagine, many details are involved as we work through this plan prior to actual construction. As we move forward, we will provide current drawings, plans, and status as we receive them from our Architect. Please be in prayer and great anticipation as God continues to provide!
July 5, 2016 Update
Last week representatives of FBC met with Dow Smith Construction to make plans for our initial phase of construction which was approved June 5. This “bridge phase” will consist of the completion of construction drawings for all three areas (new north parking lot, new entrance, and renovation of area behind the sanctuary). In addition, their civil engineers will be meeting with city, county, and state o cials to gain approval of all plans. These plans will then need to be approved by the deacons. This initial phase will take approximately two to three months. Actual construction is estimated to begin in early October. In the immediate future the project engineer and civil engineer will begin surveys of our existing building. As work progresses we will keep the congregation informed.
